We are\u00a0involved in investigating\u00a0problems linked to the control of\u00a0building envelope quality, its design and\u00a0production:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In its relationship with outdoor\u00a0environment, with the aim of controlling\u00a0interactions between the microclimate\u00a0and building;<\/li>\n<li>in its relationship with the indoor\u00a0environment, with the aim of controlling\u00a0the conditions of comfort and optimising\u00a0energy and environmental costs in\u00a0general;<\/li>\n<li>over time, in its relationship with both\u00a0natural and pathological sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 282px) 100vw, 282px\" \/><\/a>\n<p><strong>SURFACELAB<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>SURFLab is a Laboratory for the radiative characterization of building skin.<\/p>\n<p>The objective of this laboratory is to\u00a0provide measures\u00a0of the\u00a0optical and energy-related behaviour of\u00a0materials, products and components of\u00a0Building Envelopes, and an\u00a0understanding of the impact of choices on\u00a0indoor and outdoor comfort.<\/p>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/seedlabpolimi.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/01\/immagine2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" comprise:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Outdoor measurement with albedometer of Solar Reflectance of flat and curved large (ASTM E 1918) and small samples (LBNL ASTM E 1918A) at solar noon and depending on solar zenith angle<\/li>\n<li>Laboratory measurement of:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Solar spectral reflectance in the spectral range 250-2500 nm with a Perkin Elmer Lamda 950 UV-Vis-NIR spectrometer equipped with a 150 mm diameter integrating sphere (ASTM E903 or ISO 9050) or of regular samples in transmission mode in the spectral range 200-3300 nm with a 2-D module.<\/p>\n<a sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>\n<p>The quantities measured by METEOLAB include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Air temperature,\u00a0relative humidity, and pressure, wind velocity and direction, precipitation (Vaisala WXT 520);<\/li>\n<li>Global horizontal (Kipp Zonen CM21, secondary standard pyranometer) and diffuse horizontal solar radiation, under a shadow band (Kipp Zonen CM6);<\/li>\n<li>Global horizontal and diffuse luminance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Recently, also a calibration station has been installed, with a\u00a0Kipp Zonen CM22\u00a0secondary standard pyranometer (ventilated), used as a reference.<\/p>\n<p>METEOLAB\u00a0is managed in collaboration with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.meteoduomo.it\/\">Osservatorio Meteo Milano Duomo<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>GREENLAB <\/strong>is an experimental facility for monitoring\u00a0the hygrothermal performance of green roof systems. It&#8217;s active since\u00a0Sept 2011, and currently 8 green roof types are beeing monitored.
